4.12 miles in 30 min @ 1% – not too bad considering I fell asleep on the couch 30 min before I ran.

Yeah, so – sitting on the couch reading and ended up dropping the book – not sure how long I was out but couldn’t have been more that 10 minutes.  Took that as a sign that I needed to get on the treadmill right away and not wait until after we put the kids down.

I have been super tired the last 3-4 days and I am going to have to force myself to get to bed at a decent hour tonight – which means I had to get the run done early enough that my heart rate, etc is back down to a nice resting place before laying down.

This meant getting the run in before we put the kids down, which also gave me a deadline and meant I couldn’t do a slow run – I would have to push.

Luckily after the obligatory pancake supper tonight I had a fair bit of fuel in the system, add to that a rest day yesterday and I was feeling pretty good on the treadmill.  I ended up doing no walking and alternated 1 minute at 7 mph, 1 minute at 9 mph, 1 minute at 7 mph and then 2 minutes at 9 mph.  Did 6 of those cycles to get a total of 4.12 miles in 30 minutes @ 1% incline.  Very solid run.

Weather looks like the cold is finally going to break – or at least not be as severe.  Although they are calling for up to 4 inches of snow over the next 24 hours.  Throw in wind gusts up to 70 kph (43 mph) and I don’t think the roads and trails will be fit to run on in my area even if it does warm up here starting tomorrow like they are saying.  That being said things might have cleaned up enough for an outdoor run this weekend!  Not holding my breath but I am hopeful!
