#trainingrun – 7.47 miles in 60 minutes at 1% incline – 2nd last run before WFPS Half Marathon this weekend

by

Started out slow tonight as I didn’t want to push too hard with the WFPS Half Marathon coming up on Saturday (didn’t want to damage anything) but I also didn’t want to go too easy.  So I started with 3 miles at 7.3 mph and ramped up from there to 7.5 mph and eventually to 8 mph.  Totalled out at 7.47 miles in one hour – still pretty strong in the end really.

Weight was down a touch this morning to 217.5 but was back up to 219 after the run tonight.  Went out for lunch with my boss and a few co-workers today and ended up having more that I normally would have liked for lunch (including too much bread).  But I suppose the carbs are good with only a couple more days until race day!

The Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Services Half (WFPS) is kind of a big one for me – I have never done it but it is the 3rd of the 3 halves I signed up for this fall and it represents my last attempt this season to beat my PR that still stands from 2002 (1:46:11).  I was 99 seconds off on Sept 19th so I am close – just need to push and focus!

Starting to get worried about the weather though – it will be cool which I can handle but some forecasters are saying rain and snow on Saturday – not really something I want to deal with frankly.  I will have to watch the forecast closely over the next few days.
