223.5 when I woke up this morning and 222 after morning run. Was 221.5 when I woke up yesterday.
I can’t think of anything that would have caused a 2 pound difference between yesterday morning and this morning besides having one beer yesterday – but that doesn’t seem quite right either that one beer could be causing the issue. I did have some kettle corn for a treat (but not too much) – calorie wise this wouldn’t cause the weight jump from yesterday but maybe my body reacted to something in it. Will avoid that stuff today and see what happens.
Run today was 4.5 miles outside in 40:15 – I didn’t push hard at all and things felt nice and easy with no issues.
Tomorrow’s run is set for 9 miles but I am tempted to bump it to half marathon distance to get some more outdoor training miles in. It is 3 weeks Monday morning until my next race and I want to make sure that I am still trained to go longer distances than a half so that when it comes to the race I am only worried about my speed and not about whether or not I will be able to finish. I did a half distance run a few weeks ago so that shouldn’t be an issue but I haven’t done a run over a half distance since the Manitoba Marathon in June and I would like to get at least one longer run in before the first race. The longer run isn’t in the current training plan but if I bump this week’s long run to half marathon distance and then add an extra lap to next weeks’s planned half marathon distance to get me a run over 17 miles. That would still give me one more weekend long run prior to the first race which I would leave as is on the plan.
I guess I will play it by ear tomorrow morning and see if I get up early enough to do the longer run.
Nicely it might actually be warm enough outside today to be able to get in the pool and do some resistance training and swimming (haven’t been able to do that in 3-4 days due to some much cooler than normal temps here). Weather forecast is for it to get toasty again so I am looking forward to more pool days coming up.
