231 when I woke up and 229.5 after run

231 yesterday morning.

Run today was outside – ran down and back on a gravel road near our house.  Total distance 7.28 miles run in 1:15:30.  Pretty slow overall but I can tell I was running slower on the gravel than I did on the paved sections – the pace felt nice though – it felt leisurely and never really pushed hard.  I will have to see how things keep progressing but I will have get faster to be under 2 hours.

I’m trying something new for breakfasts now – I have been trying to get about 50grams of protein every morning for breakfast and to do that I have been drinking a protein shake (30g protein) and then filling in the rest with almonds and eggs but lately I haven’t had time to make eggs in the morning and I got real tired of hard boiled eggs so I have probably been only having a total of about 37 grams of protein in the morning.  To switch things up I have decided to try having 2 protein shakes in the morning (total of 60grams of protein) to make sure I am getting what I want.  If I start to get time to make eggs again I will look at moving back to the original plan but I will try this for now.  Today was the second day I did this – yesterday I had almonds too but didn’t today.  I generally have raw almonds to avoid any of the extras that roasting adds but the raw almonds are a bit harder on the system so I think I am going to take a break from almonds in the morning altogether and only have them as an occasional snack.  The hope is that this switch will help me get the weight loss kicked in again.

I am still going strong on the no Coke thing – was kind of tough last night managed to push through.  Combine this with the bump in protein at breakfast and trying to keep hold of meals and snacking during the day at work and I should finally be able to break through this 230 barrier and get the weight moving downwards again.

Really just have to make sure not to sabotage myself with eating out, etc at this point.
