233.5 on the 8th

234 on the 9th

234 when woke up on the 10th and 233.5 after 9.17 mile run in 75 minutes.

Did not run planned 4 mile run yesterday – felt really tired and ended up almost falling asleep on the couch – went to bed about an hour / hour and a half early.  I’m still doing well on the “no Coke” thing so I suspect I was tired due to the lack of caffeine.  Felt really tired tonight but had a coffee and was able to motivate to run well so I’m pretty sure that played a factor.

Weight isn’t going down as I would hope with the loss of the Coke calories so I suspect I am snacking too much and making up too many of the calories without realizing it.  I have also had a few beers here and there that are adding in some calories.  I will have to watch out for this and try to correct it.

Did end up having a Coke today with lunch – Heather and I had to do some stuff this morning and we ended up hitting a drive-through for lunch after we were done and I ordered a Coke without thinking.  But at least it didn’t drive me to open a Coke when I got home tonight so that is something.

I’m really going to try to drive the weight loss over the next week and a half or so – my birthday is coming up and I want to make sure I am well below 230 finally when I get there.

Run tonight was very solid – I did the 9.17 mile run in 75 minutes using 15 minute cycles – each cycle was 1 min walk at 4 mph / 4 min run at 8 mph / 1 min walk at 4 mph / 4 min run at 8 mph / 1 min run at 6 mph / 4 min run at 8 mph.   It felt pretty good and I was able to recover quickly on the walk periods and cardiovascular wise it was very solid.  During the last couple cycles I found I was starting lean on the treadmill and cheat a bit but there was little to no cheating in the first 2-3 cycles which was good – very heartening.

Tomorrow is a planned at 4 miles but I may go up to 6 or 7 miles to try to make up for missing yesterday’s run.  Sunday’s run is also slated to be shorter that the last couple of Sunday runs (13.1 versus 16 and 17) but I may bump it up as well if things feel good to try to kick the weight loss as well.  I will have to play it by ear and see how things go.
