236.5 – was 235 yesterday morning

Definitely solidly 20 pounds down – whoohoo!! Need to keep pushing though!

I was running around last night so didn’t get my 6 mile run in – I did 5 miles solidly in 45.5 min on Tuesday night and did 6 miles tonight in 55:41 min.

Tuesday night was done with the marathon videos running but listening to the media player music instead – I was nicely able to get into the right mind set for running and the miles seemed to fly – felt really good after.

Tonight I wasn’t able to use headphones as Heather was out and I needed to be able to listen for the kids so I had the marathon vids on the screen and had the media player softly playing through its internal speakers. It was a hard start where I figured I might only get 3 miles in but I was able to push through and get a full 6 in the end and it felt really pretty good at the end. Not really out of breath at all.

Picked up nipple protectors and an add-on bottle for my running belt on Tuesday night – I will probably get another add on bottle soon so that I have 2 for holding flat coke on the marathon.

The nipple guards definitely seemed to work – they are supposed to be reusable but one of them fell off after about 3 miles today (second use) while the other kept working. I just may have to get used to how to use them but they look like they should be quite useful. The pack came with 8 pairs so I will see how many I get through before heading to the Goofy Challenge but will probably end up picking up a second pack. On the first run with them they definitely didn’t seem to want to move so it looks like the issue is taking them off, cleaning them and then reusing them making some of the stickiness go away.
