235.5 when woke up – not so bad as I was expecting worse after the group lunch yesterday and no run.
234 after a 7.5 mile run in the evening – 65.5 minutes – was on track for 8 miles in 70 minutes but the treadmill gave up and the breaker tripped.
I am going to have to break the treadmill down tomorrow and check the deck – it is feeling too flexible near the front end. It almost felt like deck was cracked in the middle. So I will have to pop it open and see if something is loose. I’m hoping it is something simple because if the deck is cracked it probably means replacing the whole treadmill considering its age and breaker tripping that is occurring occassionally. If it looks simple then I will do a quick cleaning and maintenance on the machine at the same time to make sure it is ready for the runs this weekend.
Judging by the temperature forecast for the weekend, I suspect my outdoor runs are done – all remaining training runs will have to be on the treadmill. The temperatures are just too cold for me to do what I need outside. Saturday’s 10 mile might be possible with a low of -15C if there is no wind but Sunday’s low is -22C and a 20 mile run in that doesn’t seem like the healthy choice.
I am off work tomorrow so hopefully I can get a bunch of extra things done for the blog – I hope to get some extra posts up on things like traveling to the marathon, where we are staying, packing and check lists, etc. I also want to look at a bunch of things like for organization on the site – like reviewing the post categories and tags. Looks like tomorrow will be a typing day!
