232.5 when I woke up and 231 after 8 mile run in the early afternoon.
Was 231.5 yesterday morning when I woke up.
Had Boston Pizza for supper Friday night and a couple beers so I expected a major weight spike but weight change from yesterday to today was well within the realm of normal fluctuations – so that was a nice surprise.
I had no pop / Coke yesterday and haven’t had any today either – I am going to try to not have any for 2 weeks. I want to see if this will help my weight finally start moving again. There seems to be positive movement already but I am hoping this will solidify things and make sure things start doing what they should be doing. I want to make sure I finally break through this 230 pound barrier I seem to have. I think if I can break it I will mentally be able to push lower more easily. Ideally I would like to be 220 or less for the Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon on May 5th. That is 4 weeks from tomorrow and I have lots of long runs coming up in that period. In addition I have shown that I can consistently lose 2.5 pounds a week or so if I am focused. So that is what I have to push for at this point. Under 220 pounds and solidly under 2 hours for time – sound like good goals – closer to 1:50 would be nicer for time but that will require getting outside and running more instead of the treadmill (at least for the weekend runs) but the weather just is not cooperating at this point for that.
Run today was 8 miles in 70:10 – total of 4 minutes of walking with most of the running at 7 mph with some 6.6 and 8. Little to no cheating on the treadmill – whenever I felt myself starting to want to lean on the treadmill I would slow down or focus more. Seemed to work and the run felt pretty good overall. On the run I only had water which worked well.
I have a 17 miler tomorrow – last Sunday I did 16 in a fast time but did a fair bit of cheating on the treadmill – I will want to push the speed again tomorrow but will want to limit any cheating. So I suspect my average speed will be slower than last week but should hopefully be pretty good. We’ll see tomorrow!
