216.5 when I woke up this morning and 218.5 after evening run and swim.
So 216.5 is excellent – it’s a new low since I started this process last September – I haven’t been this low since 2005 at least – definitely a nice ego boost and shows I am doing something right. I have to be careful though and watch myself, especially over the upcoming weekend – pretty tempting to treat myself – need to keep telling myself that I can have a treat after I get done the half on September 22nd.
Run was solid – I was fiddling around in the first few minutes of the run and it included a minute at 5% incline at 6 mph but the wife and kids were heading to the pool when I was getting on the treadmill so I wanted to get the miles in and get out to the pool to join them. So I started doing cycles of 1 min at 7 mph and 1.5 minutes at 9 mph – I did substitute 1 minute of walking for one of the 7mph minutes and around the 25 minute mark I backed off to 1 minute cycles of each speed and then finished up at 10 mph. I started 10 mph at 29:30 and I was just short of the 4 mile mark at 30 minutes so I pushed through for an extra 5 seconds to get the full 4 miles in.
The run felt good with no nagging pains or anything – nice.
After the run I got in the pool for probably 20 minutes and did 3 sets of resistance exercises with each of the sets bumped from 20 reps to 25 for each exercise. Definitely felt nice to use the pool to cool down too – going to miss it once it gets too cold for it!
