8 miles in 63:55 – strong push while trying not to do anything silly to my knee and hamstrings

by

I got a bit of a late start on the treadmill tonight and was definitely tired. After much internal debate I finally forced myself to get rolling and I figured if I at least did 5 miles that would cover tomorrow’s run and then I could do tonight’s scheduled 8 tomorrow.

It took about 15 minutes to settle in and get properly motivated but once I got going the run went well. I was making sure to try to not push too hard and to take a short walk break (or slower speed break) whenever I felt like my form was falling apart. There were a couple times my hamstrings felt tight but fixing my form straightened that out. No knee issues at all – which is good!

So far it looks like I am recovering from whatever I did to my leg last week…but I have 5 miles scheduled for tomorrow that should be speed work. I will see how I feel before I try to push the speed too much – don’t want to re-injure at this point. I will try some speed work probably but if it feels like it isn’t going to be a good thing I will back off and run at a solid steady pace.
