6 miles in 46:48 for National Running Day – knee gave me some issues for the first couple miles but great otherwise

by

A bit of lightning outside tonight so did my National Running Day miles on the treadmill.

My knee gave me some grief but otherwise everything else felt great for the run. I started out at 7 mph and then every minute I would up the speed by 0.2 mph until I did a minute at 8.4 mph. Then I would start over at 7 mph and ramp again. Did that for the full run and never felt like I was pushing too hard. If my knee hadn’t been hurting for the first 2-3 miles I probably would have pushed harder to get some more speed work in.

Still a good positive run and I feel good that I got it done in a strong time even with some issues at the start. Less than 30 training miles until the Manitoba Marathon!
