5 miles in 36:56 @ 1% – nice solid run but looking forward to a rest day tomorrow

As a switch up from the intervals I have been doing lately I wanted to set some solid steady paces and see how well I could hold them.

So I started off doing a mile at 7.5 mph – there was a bit of a rocky start but I settled in and it felt good. I then did a mile at 8 mph which almost seemed to fly by.  Then I did a mile at 8.5 mph which took a bit of work but still felt ok.  Then I did a mile at 9 mph – that was tough and had to grab the hand hold on the treadmill a couple times to make sure I was good to keep going.  I then took a minute walk then went back in at 8 mph – that felt easy after the 9 mph mile.  I finished off the last 2 minutes at 9 mph.

That gave me a total of 5 miles in 36:56 @ 1% incline with 1 minute of walking.  Felt pretty good during the run and felt like I recovered almost immediately after I got off the treadmill.  Awesome!

Now if it would stop snowing and warm up so I can do my weekend runs outside…

Shorter runs scheduled this weekend so if the weather and trails cooperate I want to see where I am at off the treadmill!  Time will tell.
