#trainingrun – Sept 7, 2013 (Saturday) – 9 miles in 1:20:45 outside

I was 219.5 when I woke up this morning and 214.5 after I finished the run and mowed the lawn.

I hit a new low on Friday morning – 217.5 – whoohooo!!! – making sure I pushed hard on the Thursday night training run certainly helped.  My weight was up this morning though mostly due to yesterday being my wife’s birthday and the family going out for supper – we had Chinese and I tried to keep what I had fairly simple (white rice and a couple varieties of chicken dishes) and stuck to water during supper.  We did have cake later after we got home and I had a beer later in the evening.  So that would have all aided in the little weight gain I saw this morning – it won’t last though as long as I keep pushing.

Run today was solid – very nice at the start – just a little cool with little to no wind and lots of lovely sunshine.  I finished the first lap, felt good and the weather was still nice so I texted the wife and went out for a second lap.  The second lap was just under a minute slower than the first – but since I hadn’t planned on doing the second lap I didn’t have a water bottle with me and the sun got much warmer so I felt the heat and slowed down a little.  Still a very solid run and felt good after.

At least I felt good enough to grab the lawn mower when I got home and immediately cut the lawn – that took about another 40 minutes or so of push mowing (fairly large yard) but I was glad to get it down as it looks like it will be toasty today – maybe our last real warm day before heading into fall.  (Bloody geese are already practicing their flying in formation – seems early – hopefully that isn’t a sign of winter approaching too quickly).

So between not bringing a water bottle and then mowing the lawn I got down to 214.5 before my shower – a 5 pound drop – now considering I only came down about 2.5 pounds on the half marathon I ran on Monday, I would say I maybe need to drink something…

But overall my legs feel good, I feel good, I feel motivated and I am looking forward to running tomorrow again as well.  A good place to me mentally and physically!
