#trainingrun – August 17th, 2013 (Saturday)

by

219 when I woke up and 218 after morning run.

The run was a nice and easy 4.5 miles in 40:35.  I didn’t push hard at all and was able to just let my mind wander – it felt good to just be able to get into a zone and keep going.  Felt healthy and had lots of energy.

Second day that I have woken up below 220 – so it looks like that is official and not just a fluke – awesome!  The 218 after the run was a surprise as well because I haven’t seen that number on the scale even after really long runs in years and years.  Definitely helps the confidence as I push toward my goals.

Run tomorrow is scheduled at 13.1 miles but I believe I will push it up to 17.5/18 miles instead to get a much longer run in – this would be for another confidence booster and will let me concentrate on more speed work for the next 2 weeks going into the first of the 3 half marathons I am in this fall.  (First one is the Cash Store Financial Freedom Run for Diabetes Research on September 2nd in Winnipeg, MB).  The length of the run tomorrow will depend on the weather – current forecast has a chance of rain and thunderstorms – if that forecast is correct then I might do my run indoors on the treadmill instead which would mean I probably wouldn’t go as far…but it would probably be at a faster pace.  Play that by ear tomorrow.
