223.5 when woke up this morning and 222.5 after run this morning.

Run was outside this morning – 4.5 mile loop through the neighborhood in 40 minutes.  I didn’t really push so definitely not too bad a time.  Things felt a little tight at first but eventually loosened up but I am certainly looking forward to getting in the pool a little later and letting the muscles relax.  And it is probably worth while hitting the hot tub a bit more regularly as well – especially with the higher speed attempts on the treadmill I am trying lately.

Later today I will be finishing up putting in a new dedicated circuit for the treadmill.  Currently it is on a dedicated 15 amp circuit but also on an extension to reach that outlet and it has been tripping the breaker when I take a shot at higher speeds for too long.  I tried adjusting several things on the treadmill with no luck resolving the issue so it seems that the 15 amps is maybe a bit borderline for ratings for the unit (maybe 15 amps for someone half my weight?) plus an extension cord can add a bit of a draw on the circuit too putting it over the edge enough to trip.  I tried just swapping out to a 20 amp breaker on the current circuit and everything worked well yesterday.

A 20 amp circuit though needs to have 12/2 wire (not the 14/2 on the current circuit) and the outlet itself will only be rated for 15 amps so it needs to be swapped out too. So basically I was going to swap out the breaker, the wire and the outlet since it is a very short run but that still would have left the treadmill using an extension cord.  So since I pretty much had to buy everything to make a full new circuit anyway and my basement where I have the treadmill has a drop ceiling I decided it would make more sense (and be almost as easy) to run a brand new 20 amp circuit closer to the treadmill so that I can stop using the extension cord.  I will then be able to maintain the current 15 amp circuit as well to be used for other stuff in the basement – can always use an extra circuit. Most likely I will move the fan I use while running to the existing circuit off of the outlet also used by our media center in the basement – this will take a motor load off of the surge protector and probably allow a bit cleaner power to the electronics there.  Not that it’s that big a deal but still a better practice than what I am doing currently.

I will probably take this as an opportunity to clean up a bit around the treadmill and do some extra maintenance there in the basement as well – one little bit of work always leads to a half dozen more jobs.
