Hi there – On Sept 19th, runDisney put up a blog post indicating that there were changes coming for the Walt Disney World Marathon course for 2020 – Blizzard Beach is being added! But what does that mean?
I put up a video on YouTube where I go through my theories of what might happen to the course.
Basically I am thinking that they will add a run through Epcot to start the race before heading to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach. I suspect they will be removing ESPN Wide World of Sports and the boring highway miles out to ESPN and from there to Hollywood Studios.
After Blizzard Beach, I am thinking we will run directly to Hollywood Studios and head back to Epcot from there through the Boardwalk area.
I am holding up hope that the course changes are enough spare mileage to allow them to add Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge to race! I don’t really think that this will happen but I am very hopeful.
