5 miles in 34:48 @ 1% – strong shake out run after half marathon on Sunday – feeling good!

Felt good tonight getting on the treadmill but was tempted to back off the run from a scheduled 5 down to 3 miles. I figured if I was going to do that then I needed to get the 3 done quickly so at least I would get some speed work in even if I backed off the mileage.

So that was the plan I went with – I pushed pretty hard and then by the time I got to 3 miles (near the 21/22 minute mark) I figured I should at finish off a half hour…which took me to around 4.3 miles. Well at that point why not finish the 5? And I did…in a good time besides – 34:48 with no walking at all.

Definitely a strong run and considering I PR’ed a half marathon 2 days ago, I am pretty happy with the push tonight. Yeeha!

Less than 6 weeks to Manitoba Marathon on Fathers’ Day – can I PR that one too? We shall see!
