I forgot to eat before I headed out on the run this morning. I got it done but every mile seemed slower than the last. I also forgot to bring any fuel with me. I didn’t bonk but it was kind of rough to say the least.
There was still some ice out there but not too bad – it should almost be all gone by the time I run outside again next weekend. Whoohoo!
It is 4 weeks today until my first race of the season – the Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon (WPS Half Marathon). I would like to break my PR finally with this race (1:46:11 has been hanging around my neck since 2002 – time to shake it off!) but I honestly don’t know where I am with having spent so much of the winter on the treadmill and not running outside.
The run today did not make the chance of beating the PR look very likely but like I said I was not fueled and did not bring fuel with me. I was also not particularly focused and just let my mind wander which probably didn’t help. Training continues and the weather seems to have finally turned so I should be able to get some kind of idea where I am soon.
Gotta keep pushing!
