217.5 when I got up and 214.5 after morning run.
Spent some time in the pool yesterday splashing around but no real exercising – took a rest day to make sure I’m not overtraining at this point.
Run this morning felt really good – started out intending to only do one of my 4.5 mile laps but I finished the first one so well and still felt awesome (plus it was early enough I wasn’t in conflict with any family jobs for the day) so I decided to try another lap. I finished the second lap strong going at a surprising clip for the last 5 or 6 minutes and I think in the end I have my fastest time yet on a 2 lap run. Felt awesome and everything seemed to be in place.
Did have some slight chafing with I will have to take a closer look at to see what happened – was wearing stuff I have worn before without issues so something might be wearing out or just not fitting the same with some of the weight loss that is finally occurring again. I will double check the clothes I was wearing and see if something needs to come out of the work out clothes rotation.
I woke up with a slight ache in the back of my right thigh as well – doesn’t seem to have impacted the running at all and it is an ache not a real pain but it is something I will have to watch to make sure I don’t aggravate it and derail my training.
All around – an awesome morning and an awesome run. Looking forward to tomorrow’s run – should be 2 laps again but may push it up to 13.1 miles instead – I will make that decision tomorrow morning when I see how I am feeling. After all I don’t want to over train and blow out on my next half marathon race on September 22nd (Winnipeg Rotary Club half marathon).
